KNET switches on solar power production

Jun 25, 2026

The Hexatronic Group company, KNET in South Korea, has completed the installation and grid connection of its solar power facility. Commercial operation started on June 23, 2026, supporting Hexatronic Group’s focus on increasing the share of renewable energy across its operations.

The facility consists of 775 solar panels with a total installed capacity of 499.875 kW and is expected to generate approximately 433 MWh of renewable electricity annually.

Based on the factory's total electricity consumption of 5,886 MWh in 2025, the solar power facility is expected to supply approximately 7.4% of the factory's annual electricity demand, contributing directly to reduced greenhouse gas emissions and increased use of renewable energy.

This project represents an important milestone in KNET’s sustainability journey. Together with its Renewable Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) program, KNET aims to transition 100% of its electricity consumption to renewable energy by 2030. The company is also committed to eliminating its direct Scope 1 emissions as part of its Net Zero 2030 target.

The solar power project reflects KNET’s commitment to the Hexatronic Group's sustainability strategy and its determination to contribute to carbon reduction through responsible business practices.

This achievement is the result of the collective efforts of KNET employees and demonstrates a shared commitment to creating a more sustainable future for our customers, communities, and future generations.
