At our Neulengbach facility, sustainability is an integral part of our everyday operations, delivering real benefits for our customers. From installing 896 solar panels that now supply 8% of site electricity to switching forklifts to HVO100 fuel and optimizing material reuse, these actions cut hundreds of tonnes of CO₂ annually and strengthen energy independence. For customers, this presents an opportunity to reduce supply chain (Scope 3) emissions and hit sustainability targets faster. These efforts have also been recognized internally with the Hexatronic Sustainability Award 2025.
Powering production with solar energy
896 solar modules now generate clean electricity for the site, producing 367,757 kWh from January to August 2025 and avoiding 157 tonnes of CO₂ emissions—equivalent to planting 216 trees. By producing energy on-site, we reduce reliance on external sources and stabilize costs, ensuring dependable deliveries for our customers. A unique citizen participation model also allows local residents to invest in the energy transition, strengthening community engagement.
Cleaner operations with renewable fuel
Our forklift fleet runs entirely on HVO100, a renewable fuel that cuts emissions by up to 90% compared to conventional diesel. Based on an annual consumption of 11,500 liters, this switch saves approximately 27.8 tonnes of CO₂ each year, supporting more sustainable logistics without compromising efficiency.
Smarter material use for better efficiency
A new bypass system during color changes in duct production allows us to reuse more PE regrind—up to an average of 7% of total material. Between January and September 2025, this initiative reduced emissions by 663 tonnes while saving costs. For customers, this means products with a lower carbon footprint and a commitment to resource efficiency.
Logistics that reduce impact without raising costs
We've shifted 25% of our full truckload shipments to intermodal transport, which combines rail and road. This change reduces transport emissions by approximately 110 tonnes of CO₂e annually—an 85% decrease compared to road-only transport—while maintaining cost efficiency and delivery reliability.
