In tactical communications, outside broadcast, industrial, mining, marine, and offshore environments, Expanded Beam technology is often the preferred choice thanks to its resistance to contamination, vibration, and harsh operating conditions. However, connecting these rugged field-deployed systems to equipment using standard commercial interfaces can often require specialized cabling or complex integration.
Advantages of Expanded Beam
The JCON adapter solves this challenge by combining a MIL-DTL-83526 compliant Expanded Beam Junior interface with a rear adapter plate supporting standard commercial connectors such as LC, SC, ST, and FC. This makes it easy to connect rugged deployable fiber systems directly to switches, media converters, patch panels, and other network equipment using readily available patch cords.
