FDH street cabinets are typically used to connect the customer drop network to the feeder and distribution network in FTTH applications. Hexatronic Stingray air-blown fibers or Hexatronic Raptor nano cables are installed between the customer home and the cabinet and then spliced to higher fiber count Hexatronic Viper micro cables or traditional duct cables.

The cabinets all have a high capacity for handling feeder and distribution duct systems and cables, including microduct dimensions from 12 up to 20mm.

For maximum network design flexibility and cost-effective deployment, all cabinets are delivered as standard with midspan capabilities for micro cables.

All cabinets in the range feature a very robust polycarbonate cabinet with a supporting aluminium frame inside. The smallest cabinets in the range, for 24 and 48 customers, are supplied as one unit (cabinet+base) and a door that can be lifted off during installation. The larger cabinets, for 72, 96 and 144 customers, feature a separate cabinet and base and all have a swinging door.

Incoming duct assemblies are secured to a strain relief bar in the lower part of the cabinet. The individual microducts are then routed into the upper cabinet area through a high-quality EPDM foam

moisture seal plate with pre-cut holes depending on drop duct system used.

The drop cables and micro cable loose tubes are easy to install in the cabinet and are routed to the splice cassette system, located directly on the back plane or on the hinged door, through a series of radius limiters and guides for maximum installation safety.

The splice system consists of a raceway and single-circuit splice cassettes that can handle up to 12 crimp splice protectors. There is space in the raceway to add splitter cassettes to hold PLC splitters for PON applications. One splitter cassette can hold one splitter with up to 1:32 (2:32) splitter ratio and up to two splices.

The cabinets are made of glass fiber-reinforced polycarbonate. The inner frame is made of aluminium.
