Pedestals

Pedestals are compact, above ground used for different splicing and distribution applications:

  • Fiber Access Terminals (FAT) are fiber distribution points where incoming cables are distributed to several outgoing cables or blown fibers.
  • Fiber Distribution HUBs (FDH) are similar to FATs, but also incorporate fiber optic splitter. Typical applications for FDHs are in FTTH networks with a Passive Optical Network (PON) topology.

Pedestals can also be used as above ground splicing points.
