Tackling climate change requires targets based on science. Hexatronic Group is proud to announce that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has validated our science-based climate targets for 2030, contributing to the transition to a low-carbon future.
The approval confirms that Hexatronic's Scope 1 and 2 targets are in line with the ambition to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels and that our Scope 3 target meets the SBTi requirements for reducing emissions in the value chain.
Hexatronic Group AB commits to:
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a corporate climate action organization that enables companies and financial institutions worldwide to play their part in combating the climate crisis. SBTi develops standards, tools, and guidance that allow companies to set greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets in line with what is needed to keep global heating below catastrophic levels and reach net-zero by 2050 at the latest.
Setting science-based targets is crucial for ensuring our climate actions are grounded in the latest scientific research. These targets provide a clear and credible path to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, helping us contribute meaningfully to global efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C, as outlined in the Paris Agreement. By adopting these targets, Hexatronic is addressing its own environmental impact and setting an example for the industry.
Hexatronic's commitment to sustainability extends beyond our operations. By reducing emissions across our value chain, we are driving positive change throughout the industry. Our efforts to cut Scope 3 emissions, which include those from purchased goods and services and upstream transportation, show our dedication to comprehensive climate action.
At Hexatronic, we're proving our commitment to building a sustainable future by letting science guide our course of action and setting science-based targets. Follow our progress online!
